Psychological Therapeutic Interventions
As a psychologist I draw on a range of therapeutic interventions to ensure that the specific psychological needs of each person I provide support to are addressed directly. These therapeutic approaches may be attachment focussed, schema and mentalisation focussed, trauma informed cognitive and behavioural approaches or focussed on therapeutic parenting. The approach depends on the needs of the child, teen or young person and the family. I will also work with the adults in the family individually to support them in this process. I will carry out an initial psychological assessment to formulate any specific areas of need l, or this maybe achieved via an initial consultation to negotiate an agreed intervention plan with parents/ carers and the child /young person..
